A bit about us…
Our boathouse was a place of love, kindness, and inclusion. And, in equal measure, grit, determination, and purpose. Our crews were motley, eclectic, and scrappy. Not to mention, overmatched, overlooked, and in over their heads. The boathouse was home. And the crews were family. The commitment to one another ran deep and fierce.
Row Like Pigs movie was inspired by and borne of that commitment. It is an ode to the connectivity and devotion of every true Team. It is a tribute to each day of every journey embarked upon.
Row Like Pigs was a bit of an accident. It started as a film class assignment and evolved into something bigger. We never expected anyone without a D on their chest to ever give it a glimpse. But we couldn’t be prouder that is has endured and hope it continues to add a touch of motivation and joy to the rowing community.
In Memory of ADam tanney (1979-2015)
Row Like Pigs is dedicated to Adam Tanney (class of 2001), who is no longer with us. To borrow Adam’s own phrase from the movie, he approached every endeavor with a “deep and relentless sense of purpose.” Adam’s accomplishments included a Ladies Plate Championship at the Henley Royal Regatta and multiple grand final berths at Sprints and IRAs. He was the essence of the pig, knowing commitment only in the fullest measure. His passion was unmatched. His effort was ferocious. But we will remember him most for his heart, which was open, kind, and full.
